This weekend a holiday was celebrated around the world, Christmas Day! Our school had some older students who came and sang some Christmas songs for us, like Jingle Bells. They were all very friendly and liked to talk with us. In our English class, we had an activity where we exchanged gifts with one another, we all enjoyed this very much. Our English teacher gave every student a surprise present, that made us really excited. The gift is a notebook, two pens, a cute ruler and an eraser! I think…

Yesterday, my family and I went to the Kaohsiung Train Station to meet my uncle and my cousins. We get there at 11 am. The station was really crowded and made people fidgety. We went to an Italian restaurant, they have delicious spaghetti and perfect service, this made me enjoy my time very much. Today, we went to a café near the Kaohsiung Airport. The view was so beautiful and it was easy to see the airplanes. In the afternoon, our visitors will return to Taipei. I was a little sad but we will…

This month, I attend a math camp. Every weekend of this month, I have gone to Poai Elementary School to learn new things about math. They let us play some interesting games that help you to have greater math knowledge. Next week is the last lesson of this math camp, so we need to make a PowerPoint presentation to show what knowledge we have learned at this camp. It's a little hard to make it in such a short time, so I will try to do my best. Last week, we stuck some little balls together to make…

Last week, I went on a graduation trip with my classmates. First, we went to Leofoo Village. There were a lot of interesting rides to get on, but some of them were scary, so I didn't ride them. I especially enjoyed the section of the park where they showcased different different parts of the world. Then we went to the Taipei Zoo to see animals, like pandas, birds and horses (the smelliest). We stayed in a very luxurious hotel. The facilities were really great! We also visited Danshui Old Street.…

Last week, our school had exams. Everybody had nervous and anxious moods, of course including me. On the math exam , I was in a hurry to get through checking my answers. Before I turned in my exam, I found some wrong answers and was able to correct them, so my math score was OK. I also did well on my science test, I think I deserve to be rewarded. I feel so relaxed and comfortable now that my exams are over. I am thankful to my teacher for encouraging me to do my best in math, and teaching me us…

I went to a hot pot restaurant for lunch with my junior high classmates last Saturday.
The restaurant's style is different from other restaurants.
Each person has an individual hot pot, rather than everybody sharing one.
They have many kinds of ingredients to choose from. Some hot pots are unique and expensive.
For example, one of us had a seafood hot pot with a milk base.
I ate a hot pot with beef in a light bone marrow base.
Although the price was average, it tasted really good.
After eating l…

Last Saturday was Mid-Autumn Festival, it's a traditional Chinese festival. Most Taiwan families will barbecue with their family members. This Moon Festival, my family and I ate some delicious moon cakes and set off some fireworks. We went to a new little night market. It is very spacious there, so you can safely have fireworks. I played some games and ate doughnuts and ice-cream for a snack. I had a wonderful Mid-Autumn Festival, I hope to have a wonderful time next year, as well.

School began a month ago. I'm very busy, because I have many things to do everyday. At school, I'm a line leader, that's the busiest job a student can have. Every class has six lines, every line has one line leader. Every line leader has to be very responsible. We have to take homework from each student in our line, collect books and exam papers among other things. We also have to check their homework, and correct their exam papers. I'm a history teacher's helper, too. I hate history, so I don't…

I am in the 6th-grade now, it is so fast. Our class has a new teacher because our 5th-grade teacher was reassigned.
Our new teacher is a young woman, she is nice, friendly and smart. We don't have very much homework. She teaches us Chinese, mathematics, social studies and many more. This week is my second week in Yang-Ming Junior High School, because of this, I feel very tired. We have had tests almost everyday. Though the school work has been exhausting, nearly every teacher has been respectable and experienced. They are strict in teaching and they are never negligent. They are always concerned about how well students study and how they can help each student to have a better life.
Yang-Ming Junior High School also offers different kinds of clubs, helping to develop the st…

School started on August 31st. From now on, I have to go to school everyday. There are 35 classes in our school, every class has about 40 students. My school is very big, but the classrooms are too small. We have to be at school no later than 7:20. We wait in our classroom until our teacher comes. Our homeroom teacher is too mean and serious, so my classmates and I don't like her very much.
On the first day, none of the teachers taught anything, they just told us the rules. It was a very boring…

Next week, school will open, and I will go to school. I am in a happy mood but I have a bad temper. When I go to school, I will meet my friends, classmates and teachers. This will put me in a joyful mood, however when I have an exam, it will make me feel less joyful, because it is a really serious thing. The classmates that I have this term are the same at last term. This is true for my tutors, as well. I am looking forward to my new semester with a new start and new challenges. It is really imp…

After two months of vacation, I suddenly have found out that school is opening next week! Oh no! I haven't even touched my homework yet, and it'll be incredible to finish it in four days. More over, my sleeping habit needs to change too. These days, I often have gotten up late. Nevertheless, I need to get up at six o' clock, and in order to make it through the day, I must make sure I go to sleep by 11 pm.
Good habits makes good men, so I have made up my mind to change my bad habits. First, I mus…

After the typhoon Morakot, lots and lots of buildings are damaged by the mudflow and mountain torrents. I decided to find a way to help the survivors, so I surfed on the internet for searching organizations which has plans about going to the disaster area to help the survivors. But I failed because there are too many people sign up at every plan. On one hand, I felt unhappy that I can't help the survivors there, on the other hand, it means that Taiwanese have mercy spirits and ardor for helping.…

Last weekend, my mother's sisters and brother got together in our house. There were a lot of people in our house. We ate hot pot with pickled vegetable, tofu and pork. It was sour but very delicious. After the dinner, we went to Love River to take a walk. The view was very beautiful there. Then we went home and watched TV together. We had much fun!
